[BCMA Broadcast] Merging of Listservs Announced

stimulate communication within
the provincial museums community, the BC Museums Association
has announced that a new provincial listserv will be introduced on
Friday afternoon, June 27th, to merge and replace the former
separate bcmuse-l and bcgal-l listservs.</span></font></div>

<div align="left"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:10pt">The new <b>bcma-l@museumsassn.bc.ca</b>
will help:</span></font></div>

</div>
<div align="left"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:10pt">- Eliminate duplicate emailings and
reduce your email traffic;</span></font></div>
<div align="left"><br>
</div>
<div align="left"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:10pt">- Re-state the intended purpose and
use of the listserv as a forum
for member and subscriber dialogue, searches, information
exchanges on any topic and free from commercial promotion;</span></font></div>

</div>
<div align="left"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:10pt">(We would like to hear from longtime
subscribers who can provide
examples of how the listserv was used by subscribers in the past).</span></font></div>

<div align="left"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:10pt">- Differentiate between the proactive
role of the Member Broadcast
Email Network, which will continue to carry BCMA bulletins, updates
and member business direclt to the current membership. </span></font></div>

<div align="left"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:10pt">HOW BCMA-L WILL BE INTRODUCED:</span></font></div>

<div align="left"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:10pt">1. Existing
subscriber lists for bcmuse-l and bcgal-l will be
merged with the many duplicate email addresses automatically
deleted;</span></font></div>

</div>
<div align="left"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:10pt">2. Messages
for posting already sent to the former listservs
will be automatically re-mapped to bcma-l for moderating and
posting;</span></font></div>

<div align="left"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:10pt">3. Email
your inquiries, job postings, searches and comments
to the provincial listserv at:</span></font></div>

subscribed to bcma-l to stay abreast of the many current and
upcoming developments concerning Conference 2003, the Awards
Program nominations, new member GO Card program, Learning
Resource Database and continued website development.</span></font></div>
