BC Museums Association, in partnership with the Canadian Conservation Institute, (CCI), is pleased to announce workshop and registration details of the next installment of BCMA's continuing Regional Workshops Series:

CCI's "Emergency & Disaster Preparedness for Cultural Institutions" is a 2-day workshop will be hosted by the Kelowna Art Gallery, 1315 Water Street, Kelowna, BC on Friday & Saturday, March 4 & 5 2005.

The downloadable Registration Form (in Word) and link to CCI's Workshop Outline have now been posted  to the BCMA website:

Enrollment is limited to 15 participants, on a "first come" basis. BCMA Member and Non-member rates (including membership) apply. Registration includes the conservation manual, as well as lunches and breaks for both days. Instructions are provided on the downloadable form.

Those on the "wait list" following the December announcement of dates have been emailed registration forms, leaving only half of these spaces available.

Deadline for registration is 5:00 pm, Tuesday, March 1, 2005.

This BCMA Regional Workshop is being held in conjunction with the Alliance of BC National Historic Sites of Canada (ABCNHSC)'s annual conference and includes a joint Regional Open House Reception on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at the Laurel Packinghouse, 1304 Ellis Street, Kelowna, BC. Guest Speaker will be Bill Turner, Executive Director, The Land Conservancy.

Registrants are welcome to attend. Watch for RSVP instructions to follow shortly on BCMA-L.

ArtsNow is a newly created dedicated arm of 2010 LegaciesNow. Its mand= ate is to invest in creative and cultural activities that will strengthen the art= s and cultural sector, help the sector prepare for the Cultural Olympiad, and cr= eate lasting cultural legacies in communities throughout the province. Approxim= ately $12 million will be invested through ArtsNow programs.
