JOB POSTING: FULL TIME
ADMINISTRATOR/ BOOKKEEPING
VANCOUVER HOLOCAUST EDUCATION CENTRE
The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre requires a full-time
Administrator, starting on April 18, 2005 to handle the financial
activities of the VHEC, a non-profit, anti-racism education centre.
This position requires someone with prior administrative and
financial management experience who is precise and organized,
possesses good computer and communications skills and has the ability
to multi-task. Must have excellent inter-personal relations, ability
to work with a complex clientele, work to deadlines and have a
commitment to social justice issues. Salaried position, range from
$24,000 - $28,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
Skills & training
Must have excellent English language skills. Working knowledge of
databases such as Filemaker Pro. Primary duties include carrying out
financial transactions, computer and data entry, petty cash
accounting, invoicing, processing memberships and ordering of office
supplies. Be able to create and maintain spreadsheets. Secondary
duties: include reception, maintenance of files and monitoring of
ticket sales.
The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre is a education and resource
centre with the mandate of Holocaust-based anti-racism education,
especially aimed at youth. The VHEC has a professional staff of five
and has been the recipient of numerous educational, museum and
performance grants and awards in recognition of its anti-racism and
multicultural work. The VHEC serves as the western repository for
survivor material, produces traveling exhibits and maintains an
archival collection and library.
