From JHarding@MuseumsAssn.bc.ca Thu Aug 31 19:11:34 2006 From: JHarding@MuseumsAssn.bc.ca (Jim Harding) Date: Thu, 31 Aug 2006 11:11:34 -0700 Subject: [BCMA Broadcast] Notice: Member Broadcast Email Network (MBEN) Message-ID: <44F6C3E6.23677.9ED4F7C3@localhost>
Greetings from BC Museums Association!

For some time, BCMA has planned to re-structure our "Broadcast" listserv as a "members only" service for current members in all membership categories, as a readily available means to reach our membership quickly with advocacy alerts, new "members only" web content updates, new Council Meeting Summaries (in development), Annual General Meeting notices and documents, and other exclusive Association and membership business, in an effort to improve member communications and transparency of Association governance and administration.

The re-constituted Member Broadcast Email Network (MBEN) will now begin to perform these roles.

We wish to invite those former BCMA program clients and community service organizations that have been subscribed to the Broadcast listserv over the past few years as different funding program clients, (ie. VolNet, Youth Community Action, etc), who wish to continue to receive information from BC's museum, art gallery & heritage community to subscribe directly to our FREE, moderated, public BCMA-L listserv. Many are already subscribed to both listservs.

You can subscribe yourself to BCMA-L at:
http://hp.bccna.bc.ca/mailman/listinfo/bcma-l

Meanwhile, ALL current Broadcast Listserv subscribers will be unsubscribed by BCMA. Shortly, you will receive an automatically generated email notification to this effect from our mail server.

ALL current BCMA members will be re-subscribed to the new MBEN listserv & similarly, will receive an auto-email notification from our mail server.

New BCMA members will be automatically subscribed to MBEN, however any direct applications for subscriptions to MBEN will first be confirmed as members by the MBEN moderator.

We urge BCMA members to remain subscribed to MBEN as this listserv will be dedicated to membership business, as noted above. Comments and dialogue is encouraged and welcome, but will be moderated for "members only" relevance. Unapproved postings will be re-directed to BCMA-L, if appropriate.

Following this immediate re-structuring of MBEN, please standby for an announcement regarding a special initiative in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts and the new Minister, The Honourable Stan Hagen.

Thank You!
--Jim
