The UBC Museum of Anthropology has a temporary full-time internship
available immediately. This position is supervised by the Curator of
Education and includes training in coordinating education and public
programs for 2006-07. The position entails:=20

=B7 training in the planning, publicity, and implementation of =
education=20
(Gr.4-12) and public programs for the Museum=20
=B7 organization and administration of the Musqueam Museum School =
Program
(Gr.4)
=B7 initiating, developing and implementing public programs in =
collaboration
with cultural communities for upcoming exhibitions, conferences and =
events
=B7 undertaking and supporting administrative work of the public =
programs
office=20
=20
Hours: 35hrs./week flexible, including some regular office hours, =
evenings
and weekends during planned public programs
=20
Rate: $15 / hr.=20

Summary: This position is suitable for a person with a background in
anthropology, theatre, fine arts, museum studies and/or museum =
education.
It is ideal for those interested in the planning and implementation of
different types of public programs developed in collaboration with =
artists
and resource people of different cultures and expertise. =20

Candidates must be able to work independently and possess good
interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills. Candidates =
must
possess basic computer skills in MS Office and internet programs. Some
knowledge of desktop publishing or graphic design is an asset. =
