[BCMA MBEN] Advocacy Alert: BC MAP Clients Need to Be Heard!

Dear Members & Subscribers;

We have been responding to phone calls and email all morning from 
media and Opposition MP's regarding the sweeping cuts by the federal 
government announced yesterday, and are remaining in constant 
touch with Canadian Museums Association (CMA) in Ottawa.

Both media outlets and MPs' offices are trying to gauge the impact of 
these cuts and BCMA is assembling information.

We have also downloaded from the MAP website, a complete list of 
program recipients from 2003-04 and 2004-05.

Have all those who applied to MAP in November 2005 received 
confirmation or rejection notifications? Is anybody still waiting?
 
Do you have applications in preparation for this year's MAP deadline of 
November 1, 2006?

(MAP only, CAHSP does not seem to be mentioned at this point--as 
details filter out).

ANY information that would help us underscore the importance of this 
program and how it is utilized by your institution is needed now!
