Subject: [BCMA MBEN] Special Conference 2-007 Offer
Message-ID: <4701273E.29309.63806F8A@localhost>
Greetings BCMA Members;
Thank you to all who have already registered for our upcoming
Conference 2-007: A Time to Bond, October 24-27, 2007 in
Richmond, BC. In terms of registration, we seem to be galloping along
at our usual pace and are in for an excellent conference!
However due to the earlier required changes to the Conference 2-007
schedule and program content, resulting in a delay in publishing and
distribution of this year's preliminary program, it has come to our
attention from our mailing house that sevral members may not have
received their copy--even though the Early Bird Registration deadline
passed yesterday, September 30th.
As compensation, and in order to help as many members as possible
to participate in Conference 2-007 and the wind-up celebration of
BCMA's 50th Anniversary, the BCMA wishes to make a special offer:
BCMA will extend the Early Bird registration rate to all those
delegates who register using their Program's original registration
form, returned by fax or mail, or delivered to the BCMA office in
person. Please claim the Early Bird Rate(s) when completing your
Program's registration form.
You will not be able to claim Early Bird rates any longer by registering
online as fees have defaulted to the Regular Rates, as of midnight
September 30th.
However watch the BCMA website, BCMA-L & this MBEN listserv for
Conference updates and special announcements.
We look forward to seeing you all in Richmond!

Subject: [BCMA MBEN] Images requested for Roundup
Message-ID: <470274D8.3060309@museumsassn.bc.ca>
Hello BCMA members:
I would like to build up an image bank of BCMA photos. If you have
images of your museum, gallery, etc., that could be part of this image
bank, please feel free to send them to me at roundup@museumsassn.bc.ca.
Images would be used as needed for Museums Roundup, or perhaps other
BCMA promotional materials. Before using them, we would verify that
images are still current, and would credit them appropriately.
Images should be high-resolution (300 dpi) jpeg, colour or black and
white. Please don't send more than 2 MBs in any one message. If you have
any questions or don't have digital images, please contact me to discuss.
Thank you!

Subject: [BCMA MBEN] Reminder: Call for Conference Auction Donations!
Message-ID: <470F931E.26052.9BD58CA8@localhost>
Support BCMA's Travel Assistance Bursary Fund!
Each year at Conference, the BC Museums Association conducts a
two-day Silent Auction in conjunction with the Trade Show, and a Live
Auction as part of the Museums in Motion Awards Banquet.
All Auction proceeds benefit BCMA's Travel Assistance Bursary Fund,
which provides support to small institutions and those in financial need
otherwise unable to participate in BCMA's annual Conference.
Remaining funds pending, the Travel Assistance Bursary Fund is also
made available to assist Regional Workshops Series registrants
throughout the year.
Auction items are donated by museums, art galleries and heritage
institutions, Conference sponsors, Trade Show exhibitors and travel
industry and sector suppliers, publishers and individual artists.
Traditionally, auction items offer a variety of fabulous trips, supplier
products, gift shop samples, reference and historical publications and
works of fine art.
Whether you or your institution is or is not able to attend Conference
2-007: A Time to Bond, October 24-27, 2007 in Richmond, BC, your
donation of Auction items is welcome and very much needed.
To donate an Auction item, please follow this link to Conference 2-
007's "Donate an Auction Item" webpage:
...and download the Auction Donation Form to complete and submit
with each item you wish to donate. In lieu of shipping an item, you may
also make a donation to the Travel Assistance Bursary Fund using this
form.
Advance shipment of Auction items is appreciated for maximum prep
time, but you may opt to bring your item with you. If you do, please
complete and submit the Auction Donation Form in advance. Directions
are provided on the webpage (above link).
An updated list of donated items to date is being prepared and will be
uploaded to the BCMA website.
