Greetings from BC Museums Association!
Mark Forsythe, longstanding host and distinctive voice of CBC Radio One's
afternoon "BC Almanac" will join BCMA's Conference 2-007's program as a special
guest presenter, as part of the BCMA's annual BC Reports Reception, at the Gulf
of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, Thursday evening, October 25th,
beginning at 6:00pm.
Mark will read from his just released "The Trail of 1858-British Columbia's
Gold Rush Past", co-authored with Greg Dickson. Together the pair have also
co-authored "The BC Almanac Book of Greatest British Columbians" compiled through
both research and submissions by BC Almanac's province-wide listeners. Both
are published by Harbour Publishing.
Mark will be joined by other representatives of BC's museums, art galleries
and heritage community, whom, under the BC Reports banner--a longstanding BCMA
Conference tradition--will provide brief presentations on their current
projects or recent developments in different BC communities. Also performing will be
the Steveston Tera Taiko drummers. The program concludes at 7:30pm followed
by Networking Dinners.
Tickets for the BC Reports Reception are available for $15. from BCMA's
Conference 2-007 Registration Desk at the Radisson President Hotel & Suites in
Richmond, or at the door.
Delegates, members and interested members of the public welcome!
