[BCMA MBEN] Direct Access Funds Announcement

CBC Radio is reporting that Minister Coleman has just announced that 
Direct Access funds have been "un-frozen" but cautioned that not all 
"community groups" will get "the whole amount of funding they might expect, 
and some groups will not get funding at all".

We are attempting to secure a copy of an official, more detailed release from 
the Minister or Public Affairs Bureau. Nothing new has been posted to the 
governing Housing & Social Development website as of this morning.

Members in the process of writing Ministers Coleman and Krueger, as 
requested to communicate the impact of freezes or cuts to funding, are 
urged to continue, in view of pending announcements confirming the status 
of BCAC operating assistance grants.

It is important to convey the scope and depth of such impacts on our sector 
now to help set the stage for continued advocacy efforts and future re-
structuring of sector relationships with the Ministry.
