JOB POSTING - General Store Manager
Huble Homestead/Giscome Portage Heritage Society is seeking an energetic and
enthusiastic individual to serve as Store Manager for Huble Homestead
Historic Site, a busy early 20th century homestead and trading post north of
Prince George. The Store Manager is responsible for providing a wide range
of administrative and hands-on tasks including: overseeing and managing all
store operations, ordering all store merchandise and supplies, managing and
directing summer staff, managing cash, financial data and reports,
maintaining inventory, supervising light site maintenance tasks, and
providing interpretive duties to the public.
The position requires 2+ years of management experience, including staff and
retail management, and superior customer service and organizational
abilities. The candidate will possess excellent communication and team
management skills, a keen sense of customer satisfaction, and enthusiasm.
Familiarity with site operations is an asset. A valid BC driver's license,
class five or better, access to a motor vehicle, criminal records check, and
willingness to work holidays and weekends are also required.
This is a permanent seasonal position, six months full time, 37.5 hours per
week; and one month part time to full time as required. Compensation
includes hourly wage beginning at $17.75 and mileage for work related

Position Outline:
The Store Manager is responsible for providing a wide range of
administrative and hands-on tasks for the Huble Homestead Historic Site.
Duties include:
-managing General Store operations, including merchandise and food sales
-maintaining store and food supplies through orders, inventory, and shopping
-managing summer staff
-managing cash, onsite paperwork, financial data and reports
-assisting with preparation, production, and clean-up of public programming
related materials
Requirements:
-staff and retail management experience
-superior customer service and organizational abilities
-excellent communication and team management skills
-exceptional inventory management
-sense of enthusiasm
-valid BC driver's license, class five or better, and access to
a motor vehicle
-criminal records check
-valid First Aid and Food Safe certification
-willingness to work holidays and weekends
