I just looked at your posting on your web page, one other issue that we faced was asking for the person to do security, if you do that, the person has to have their security license…. But it is acceptable to include in the work description that they make sure the grounds are safe and the deal with the safety concern or alert appropriate people\agencies.

Cheers

Lee

Subject: [BCMA Members Only] Looking for advice on how to employ a caretaker

At the Friends of Fintry we are wanting to bring on a caretaker to live in our house and take care of it during the off season. We initially were offering to provide the home in lieu of salary but have been informed that we cannot do this.

Does anybody have experience with "live in" caretakers and could advise us on how to proceed?

Thanks,
