The Creston Museum is now accepting applications for summer student =
positions. These positions are dependent on approval of funding from =
Service Canada and Young Canada Works. In order to be eligible to apply =
for summer student positions under these programs, you must:

  a.. Be 15-30 years of age;
  b.. Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
  c.. Be enrolled in full-time studies, either secondary or =
post-secondary, during the 2006-2007 school year and be intending to =
return to full-time studies in September 2007;
  d.. Able to commit to 12-16 consecutive weeks of full-time employment;
  e.. Not have any other full-time (30 hours per week or more) =
employment.
If you do not meet all of these eligibility requirements, we cannot =
consider you for our summer student positions.

The positions that the Creston Museum hopes to have available for the =
summer of 2007 are:

      Heritage Interpreter
     Provide all visitors with information on the history of Creston, =
the Museum's exhibits, and the artifacts on display; deliver educational =
programming to school tours.

      Collections Assistants
     Inventory all textiles and ceramics collections, ensuring that they =
are properly stored or mounted; assist with providing information to =
visitors.
    =20
      Archives Assistant
     Complete a research index of the Archives' collection of =
photographs; assist with public research requests; assist with providing =
information to visitors
    =20
      Visitor Services Assistant
     Staff the Museum's gift shop; provide information to visitors on =
local history, the Museum's collections, and the exhibits; assist in =
planning and implementing special events; provide local tourist =
information
    =20

We would like to hear from you if you:

  a.. Describe yourself as self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic;
  b.. Are able and willing to learn quickly;=20
  c.. Pay close attention to detail and have a very strong work ethic;
  d.. Have the ability to juggle two or more tasks;
  e.. Love working with people of all ages and backgrounds;
  f.. Know something about computers and how to use them;
  g.. Are preferably enrolled in a related field of study, such as =
history, museum studies, or Canadian studies, and intend to pursue a =
career in a related field;
  h.. Have basic abilities in French and/or other languages
All positions will involve a forty-hour work week, with an hourly rate =
of $9.00. Depending on level of funding obtained, these positions will =
be of 12-16 weeks duration, ending on August 25. Students hired will be =
expected to work most or all weekends during the work period, and a =
typical work day will begin at 9:00 and end at 5:00.
