The Exhbitions and Canadian Postal Museum Division is currently seeking 
dynamic individuals who will, under the supervision of the Manager, 
Exhibitions and the Manager, Exhibitions and Canadian Postal Museum, 
lead aspects of the Exhibition Development Process with teams of 
curators, interpretive planners, designers and other museum 
professionals in the planning, development, installation, and 
maintenance of temporary, permanent and travelling exhibitions for the 
Canadian Museum of Civilization (CMC) and the Canadian War Museum (CWM); 
contribute to the identification and monitoring of diverse operational 
services to ensure the ongoing operations of exhibit spaces for both 
museums; ensure that all aspects related to the financial management and 
schedules of exhibition projects and the management of Exhibition 
Project Teams meet the operational requirements of both museums; and 
perform other related duties as required.

As the ideal candidate, you hold a three year college diploma or the 
completion of accredited apprenticeship training in social sciences, 
humanities or in a related field plus formal training in project management.

You possess knowledge of:

    *
      Policies and procedures regarding museums;
    * The CMCC mandate, programs and services;
    * Project management techniques, including development, control,
      monitoring and reporting of budgets;
    * Exhibition planning/development and associated operational analyses;
    * Technical operations;
    * Teambuilding and conflict resolution techniques;
    * Strategic and tactical communications and negotiation techniques;
    * Contracting/procurement policies and procedures;
    * The principles of target audiences and stakeholders;
    * General museological principles;
    * Consultative and evaluation processes;
    * Various project management related computer applications
      (MsProject or equivalent).


You have experience in:

    *
      Gallery and exhibition development and maintenance;
    * Managing multi-disciplinary project teams;
    * Managing budgets for projects.


Since you will be working in a highly computerized environment, a 
demonstrated experience of word processing (Word), electronic 
spreadsheet (Excel), presentation (Power Point) and electronic mail is 
required.
