Located at 1401 Rockland in Victoria, Butterworth Cottage is one of the
19th century=20
outbuildings that make up the historical service area at Government
House. It was=20
constructed in 1880 and is believed to have functioned as a poultry
house and machine shed=20
at some point in its history.
This project focuses on overhauling and conservation of the Butterworth
Cottage to better=20
serve the needs of 300 garden volunteers and garden visitors by
providing an orientation=20
point, continuing provision of space for plant and gift sales, and
establishing a tea shop=20
and washroom facility accessible to users of the site.
A mandatory Proponents' briefing will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday
August 9th, 2007.=20
Proponents will be meeting at the Porte Cochere at Government House, to
discuss issues=20
related to the RFQ. Clarifications and/or revisions to the RFQ which
result from the=20
briefing will be distributed to the Proponents by addenda.=20
