      Canadian Culture Online Strategy: Partnerships Fund deadline is
      September 20, 2007


*August 10, 2007 —* The Partnerships Fund, a component of the Department 
of Canadian Heritage’s Canadian Culture Online Strategy, is now 
accepting proposals for the 2008-2009 federal fiscal year.

The application process has two stages: a shorter Expression of Interest 
phase, followed by a more extensive Full Application phase for selected 
proposals. The deadline for the Expression of Interest phase is: 
*September 20, 2007*.

*Who can apply?*

    * Registered or incorporated Canadian not-for-profit organizations
      active in the Canadian cultural or heritage sector;
    * Public educational institutions, i.e. universities, colleges, etc.;
    * First Nations (bands or tribal councils), Métis settlements, or
      Inuit equivalent governments, whose main role is serving one or
      more Aboriginal communities *and* actively promoting the culture
      of related communities;
    * Municipal or regional governments;
    * Provincial or territorial government agencies.

*About the Fund*
The Partnerships Fund is a component of the Department of Canadian 
Heritage's Canadian Culture Online Strategy (CCO), whose primary 
objective is to connect all Canadians with the riches of Canada’s 
heritage by making Canadian cultural collections held by provincial, 
municipal, and local cultural organizations available via the internet 
in both official languages.
