Please post:
Dear BCMA members,

As Reference Historian at the North Vancouver Museum & Archives, I am
interested in developing our oral history program. I am wondering if
anyone has some tips? I am interested in training opportunities for
doing oral history interviews. Some feedback on equipment for recording
and transcribing interviews would also be welcome.

Is anyone aware of an upcoming conference of training for doing oral
histories projects? I see that there is a conference in Oakland
California in October and a Military Oral History Conference at
University of Victoria. I know that the Jewish Museum & Archives of BC
is having training for their own volunteers, but is there any other
information on general training or any other oral history conferences
being planned in the next year?

Your comments and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Daien Ide
