Interpretation Canada Training 

Great for anyone who delivers tours, or group presentations,
creates and staffs displays and creates interpretive
brochures or signs or does marketing. Training provides a
planning framework for new interpreters and is a great
review for more experienced staff. All techniques taught can
be used in marketing as well. Modules are a great starting
point for anyone interested in the national certification
process.

Module 1 Feb 24 & 25 Principles & Planning 
9:30am-4:30pm Nanaimo, BC 

Discover what Interpretation really is and how to apply the
the principles to planning interpretive tours and
experiences for specific audiences. Find out how themes help
you build programs around a message to ensure the program is
memorable. Explore an easy way to write objectives and learn
how outcomes differ. Learn how provoke, relate and reveal is
a useful tool for planning a quick speech or last-minute
program! 

Module 2 Mar 24 & 25, 2007 Group Communication & Delivery
Skills
9:30am-4:30pm Nanaimo, BC 

Learn and practice delivery techniques for group
communication, and delivery skills for guided walks,
slideshows/PowerPoint presentations, roving, information
stations, display booths and more! Participants will create
and deliver a short presentation during the training and see
a variety of interpretive styles.

$150 per module, includes workbook and Interpretation Canada
certificate. No GST.
Confirmation package includes accommodation, food and other
amenities.
Bring a topic you want to develop into an interpretive
presentation.

Workshop is located 8 minutes from scenic downtown Nanaimo
by car and is located across from a park with forest and
lakes for a lunch-time stroll.
