The White Rock Museum + Archives is hosting a lecture series titled "In =
Their Own Words", four lectures presented by four local authors on =
topics of local interest. Admission is by donation and lectures will be =
held in the meeting room of the White Rock Museum + Archives. To =

White Rock".

Anne Murray is the author of A Nature Guide to Boundary Bay and is a =
past president and executive member of the Federation of BC Naturalists, =
on the board of Nature Canada and is on the Delta Municipality =
Environment Advisory Committee.

February 18th, 2007 - 10:30am - Derek Hayes - "Local History in Maps"

Derek Hayes is a Geographer and map historian and the author of numerous =
historical atlases including Historical Atlas of Vancouver and the Lower =
Fraser Valley and Canada An Illustrated History.

March 4th, 2007 - 10:30am - Donald Luxton - "The Dos and Don'ts of =
Heritage Home Preservation"

Donald Luxton is the author of Lions Gate, a history of the construction =
and cultural impact of Lions Gate Bridge. He is a founding Director of =
the Heritage Vancouver Society and the Victoria Heritage Foundation, =
Director of the Vancouver Heritage Conservation Foundation, and founding =
and current President of the Canadian Art Deco Society.

March 18th, 2007 - 10:30am - Lorraine Ellenwood - "The Early History of =
White Rock"

Lorraine Ellenwood is the author of Years of Promise: White Rock 1858 - =
1958 and is a White Rock historian and Director Emerita of the White =
Rock Museum + Archives.

There will be a question and answer period, and book signing following =
each lecture. Copies of each authors' books will be available for sale.

The White Rock Museum + Archives is a community organization serving =
residents of and visitors to White rock. Our mandate is to collect, =
preserve, research, interpret and exhibit White Rock's heritage, both =
past and present, based on the four themes of the Museum: First Nations =
history, Natural History, Settlement History and Railway History.
