AldrichPears Associates, is a Vancouver based firm providing planning and
design services to an international clientele of museums, science centres,
zoos and themed attractions. The firm has over thirty researchers, writers,
architects, industrial designers, exhibit designers, graphic designers and
support personnel. We are looking for a few creative individuals to add to

Job Description
Interpretive Writer/Researcher:
We are looking for a Interpretive writer who has a natural talent for
telling a story, excellent verbal and writing skills and the ability to
think conceptually. The successful candidate must have a post-secondary
education and four to five years writing experience. Previous exposure to
design, museum or exhibit environments is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
* Researches content (on site, literature, web, etc.), possible exhibit
components, and conducts interviews with topic experts.
* Sources artifacts, images, and other interpretive resources; prepares
summaries of material for use by the design team .
* Responsibilities include determining the scope, content, and focus of
interpretive and educational exhibit messages, and coordinating the
development of project components in conjunction with the design team.
* Develops thematic planning using matrices and visitor narratives.
* Thematic, space, and media planning (working with 3D and graphics
designers): coordinating the relationships between story, graphics, physical
space, and exhibits.
* Individual exhibit development, bridging from content into specific ideas
for physical exhibits and programs.
* Develops original text that is clear and concise.
* Finds the good stories and creates experiences that deliver content
accurately and entertainingly.
* Writes accurate and engaging exhibit copy that communicates the chosen
messages to the target audiences at varying levels of complexity.
* Communicates effectively to successfully translate specialized knowledge
to a wide and varied audience.
* Responsibilities also include photo and image sourcing, written process
documentation, panel text for outline, draft, and final, and conducting
subject-research interviews.
* Develops audio/visual creative outlines and treatments.
