Fridays, July 13^th – September 7^th 2007
Vancouver, BC (June 15, 2007) - Enchant your evenings with the
critically acclaimed concert series at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese
Garden every Friday night starting July 13^th to September 7^th 2007. In
its fourteenth season, the Enchanted Evenings series introduces exciting
new groups to our series along with your favorite performers. This
year’s repertoire includes classical, Asian, world, gypsy jazz, African
and fusion music. All shows start at 7:30pm. Awaken your senses with
vibrant sounds in a beautiful setting. Book your Friday nights to
celebrate this unique blend of cultural diversity! Tickets are $15 for
non-members and $12 for Garden Society members. Also available is a
season’s pass for $110 which will allow you to watch all nine

Concert Schedule
July 13 Hot Club of Mars – This dynamic group plays and sings wonderful
old hot swing tunes with style, power and grace. Come be romanced by
Gypsy Jazz, the contemporary name for the genre of music now popular
worldwide that was created by Django Reinhardt and his Quintette du Hot
Club de France in the 30s and 40s.
July 20 FESO – Groove to authentic traditional and contemporary
Zimbabwean music!
July 27 Vancouver Chinese Music Ensemble – A wonderful showcase of
traditional Chinese instruments and features highly accomplished
instrumentalists who combine technical mastery with a passionate
approach to music.
Aug 3 Khac Chi – A music group showcasing rare and unique musical
instruments and melodies from the mountain peoples of Vietnam
Aug 10 Vancouver Piano Ensemble – An evening of great classics played on
two grand pianos with eight hands that will leave audiences enthralled
by the rare and unique piano repertoires of composers such as Haydn,
Bach and Liszt.
Aug 17 Orchid Ensemble – Orchid Ensemble creates a distinctive sound by
blending Eastern and Western musical traditions and instruments from
China and Europe.
Aug 24 Sunny and Friends – An eclectic blend of India's finest sounds!
Aug 31 Silk Road – The show is focused on innovative compositions for
the Pipa (Chinese lute), Spanish Guitar and many other world instaments
that reflect the vast musical experiences of founder Qiu Xia He and
Andre Thibault. A special guest will be invited to play with them.
Sept 7 Dharmakasa – An alchemy of global music that fuses ancient
instruments and musical traditions from around the world with unique,
modern instrumental inventions. A shakuhachi Zen flute master Alcvin
Ramos and Andrew Kim, a multi-instrumentalist with a talent for Indian
strings, will perform this profound musical experience to awaken your soul.
