*Summer Installation

*The Bulkley Valley Museum in Smithers, B.C., is proud to welcome
visitors to its 2007 Summer Exhibition, "*From Windmills to Sawmills and
Beyond...*" which will be open to the public until September 4th.

This exhibition is a review of the Dutch migration to the Bulkley Valley
(1937 - 1960). Although hardly known outside of the Bulkley Valley
region, the Dutch migration to this area of Northwestern B.C. had many
positive economic, social and cultural effects which are very well
documented in this exhibition. "*From Windmills to Sawmills and
Beyond...*" is guest curated by 5 residents of the Bulkley Valley who
were, in turn, greatly affected and influenced by the Dutch migration.
The participation of the five guest curators lends a uniquely personal
approach to the subject and its portrayal.

Visitors can also explore our *Permanent Collection *exhibition which
documents the geological, cultural and technological evolutions of the
Bulkley Valley.

The Museum is easy to find at the crossroads of Hwy 16 and Main Street
in the heart of Smithers. Tour groups and individuals are welcome.
Guided tours of the exhibitions provided upon request. Open on statutory
holidays during the Summer.

Hours of operation:

Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 P.M.

Saturday & Sunday: Noon to 4 PM.

Enquiries welcome.

Fergus Tomlin,
Museum Director.
