E7 ($56,485 - $70,606)
Permanent Full-Time Position - Position Number 9445

The Collections Management and Planning Division is currently seeking a 
dynamic individual with strong project management skills, who will, 
under the Director of Collections Management and Planning, manage the 
storage and access to the museum’s artifact collections, the processes 
for the acquisition, registration, and loan of the museum’s artifact 
collections; supervise and coordinate staff and contract personnel 
activities in order to provide support services for the research, 
documentation, conservation functions of the museum as well as for the 
various exhbitions, programs and other collections based initiatives; 
speak knowledgably about all aspects of the Museum’s collection storage 
activities for educational, professional, and public information 
purposes; and perform other related duties as assiged.

As the ideal candidate, you hold a Three year college diploma in Museum 
Technology, or related field and/or significant experience.

You possess knowledge of:

    * General Museology principles and practices;
    * Preventitive conservation measures;
    * Safety rules and regulations as established for the workplace;
    * Specific requirements for packing and transportation of museum
      artifacts;
    * Collections storage principles and practices;
    * Standards and practices for the registration and documentation of
      Collections;
    * Artifact data-base methodology and software, including the
      tracking and movment of artefacts and collections within and
      beyond museums;
    * Loans procedures and practices, customs documentation and
      transportation;
    * Microsoft Office Suite.

You have between three (3) to five (5) years experience in:

    * Planning and implementing major artifact storage installations in
      museums;
    * Managing artifact registration and artifact loan processes;
    * Handling museum artifacts/works of art;
    * Planning within a project oriented environment;
    * Contributing to the development of museum exhibitions from a
      collections management perspective;
    * Managing others in the operations of museum collections management;
    * Managing, organising and assessing priorities under the pressure
      of deadlines.
