EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN WELLS

Island Mountain Arts in Wells, BC requires two term employees to assist 
in the organization and operation of the annual ArtsWells Festival of 
all Things Art.

 

Island Mountain Arts is a vibrant arts organization that provides 
innovative cultural programming in north central BC. In addition to the 
ArtsWells Festival, the organization annually presents the Summer School 
of the Arts, the International Celtic Harp School, the Toni Onley 
Artists’ Project for Emerging and Professional Artists and a variety of 
additional events and workshops.  IMA’s Public Gallery features exhibits

Wells is a tiny community 80 km east of Quesnel, near Barkerville 
Historic Town and Bowron Lakes Provincial Park.  It is known as a 
destination for the arts, heritage and outdoor pursuits.  For more

This position will provide cultural sector workers with valuable 
experience and networking opportunities.  The positions are funded 
through the Job Creation Partnership Program.  All candidates must be EI 
eligible.

 

The candidate will be expected to have basic computer, writing, 
communication and organizational skills. An interest or proficiency in 
technology, particularly as it relates to music staging and sound, is 
encouraged.

 

The employee will assist with the organization of the ArtsWells 
Festival, with an emphasis on sourcing and managing technical 
requirements.  The Festival features 3 days of concerts, workshops and 
also includes the International One Minute Play Festival.  Employees 
will assist in workshop development and meeting technical requirements, 
work with performers and volunteers, and provide festival follow-up as 
required.  This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to work 
in the performing arts/touring sector to gain experience and contacts.

 

Wages will topped-up to the equivalent of $12.50/hour.
