The Nelson and District Museum, Archives, Art Gallery and Historical Society
seeks an exhibition/program assistant to assist the Curator/Programmer with
the development of exhibitions and programming including children's
programming.
Job description:
To assist the Curator in developing elementary school programs linked to the
elementary school curriculum and based on the permanent museum exhibition in
the new Touchstones facility and an associated marketing strategy, for use
with local school beginning Sept 2007.
To assist the Curator in developing the Society's Fall 2007 exhibition
schedule, resulting in the completion of planning for Autumn exhibitions and
preliminary preparations for the installation of the exhibitions.
Other duties as required including occasionally working at the admissions
desk to cover staff lunch breaks.
Job Requirements:
1. Must be between the ages of 16 and 30
2. Must have attended a post-secondary institution full-time in the
2006-7 term
3. Must be returning to school full-time for the 2007-8 term
4. Good computer skills
5. Marketing skills an asset
6. Educational and interpretive skills an asset
7. Detail oriented and comfortable with multi-tasking

Job description:
Assisting with the cataloguing and conservation of visual records
(photographs, slides, videos, film, etc), making digital copies of selected
images, and assisting in providing archival and research services to the
public.
Other duties as required including occasionally working at the admissions
desk to cover staff lunch breaks.
Job Requirements:
