I suggest using the "reasonable" reimbursement rates as advised by Revenue
Canada, that is, 50 cents per kilometre for the first 5000 kilometres and
then 44 cents per kilometre thereafter. This is important because as a
reasonable reimbursement it is not taxable. However, if the amount is
either too high or too low it can be taxed as a taxable benefit and added to
the recipient's taxable income. Revenue Canada gets to decide if it's
reasonable or not, we don't....
