Job Title: Summer Art Program Coordinator Assistant
Location: Penticton, BC
Employment Period: June 25 � August 31, 2007
Hours/Week: 28 (Generally Monday �Friday)
Wage: $9/hr

Description:
The Art Gallery of the South Okanagan seeks an experienced, innovative, team-orientated, and highly motivated Summer Art Program Coordinator Assistant.  The successful candidate will assist in the development, implementation and facilitation of an ongoing summer program to run out of the gallery during the summer months to serve the communities youth and introduce them to a positive and creative arts experience.  The participant will also assist in the development of the weekly lesson plans with the assistance of the AGSO�s Education Coordinator and Summer Art Program Coordinator and will be responsible for the delivery of the programs.  The participant will assist in the development and delivery of a marketing plan to advertise and promote the program to the target audience and administer the programs enrollment.  The participant will select activities and create a list of required materials to be acquired from regional arts resources and suppliers.  The participant will al
so contribute to the creation of a reference guide for future participants to use as a resource for future programming.

Ideal candidates will be in good academic standing, have a keen interest in working with children, keen interest in the arts, and is able to work independently and in collaboration.  As this program will deal mainly with children and youth the candidate will have to undergo a background check with the R.C.M.P. prior to commencing work.  Candidates should have a basic knowledge of computer systems, including Internet and word processing.  A strong command of the English language is desired, and a secondary language is not required though would be an asset. The Art Gallery of the South Okanagan encourages students of all ages, races, and gender to apply.

Eligible participants must be:
�	Between the ages of 15 and 19 (inclusive)
�	Legally entitled to work in Canada
�	Full-time secondary or full- time secondary students going into post-secondary education
