Victoria Day - Pomp, Ceremony & Fun
The Burnaby Village Museum site is set in the 1920s - a place where
pictures of the King George V and Queen Mary are hung in the school
house, where the Union Jack flies over the site and where Victoria Day
is celebrated in grand style.
Traditional Victoria Day entertainment at the museum includes:
- a parade throughout the village
- historical re-enactors, the Seymour Artillery Company with their
encampment in our meadow, provide cannon firings and a special salute to
the Queen
- character actors playing the part of Queen Victoria and her
ladies-in-waiting who perform a Queen’s Levée
- Tiddly Cove Morris Dancers
- a colossal birthday cake decorated with blueberries and strawberries
in the shape of the Union Jack (public are invited to a free piece)
Victoria Day Celebrations May 21
at the Burnaby Village Museum, 11:00am - 4:30pm, 6501 Deer Lake Avenue,
Burnaby
Admission: $ 5.00-$10.00
