The Mission Museum is Hiring Students for the Summer
Job Title: Museum Assistant 1: Collections and Information Management
Responsibilities:
· Front of house activities including tours and sales
· Assisting the Curator with preventative conservation duties
· Community research project on the Peoples of Mission
· Assist the Curator with outreach programming and special events
· The student will work with the collection completing accessioning, data
entry and inventory projects.
Hours: 30 per week
Wage: $9.50 per hour
Work Period: June 7th to August 23rd (approx. 11 weeks)
Work Week: Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm
Qualifications for Student Employment
· University or college student preferred
· Computer literate with experience using data bases and power point an
asset
· Excellent research, writing and communication skills
· The ability to work independently as well as with staff and volunteers.
· An enthusiasm for history, learning and interacting with the public in a
professional and confident manner
· Knowledge of the Mission and previous work experience in a museum
environment would be an asset

· Some weekend and some holiday work required

Job Title: Museum Assistant 2: Programming and Outreach
Responsibilities:
· Front of house activities including tours and sales
· Assisting the Curator with preventative conservation duties
· Community research project on the People of Mission
· The student will work with the Heritage Fair Task Force to set goals and
make plans for the winter seasonal program that will be introduced to the
community
· The student will work to create a digital slide show and photo album of
Mission’s history
Hours: 30 per week
Wage: $9.50 per hour
Work Period: June 14th to August 24th (approx. 10 weeks)
Work Week: Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm
