The Nanaimo Art Gallery is seeking an Assistant Art Educator

(summer position)

Don't miss this unique opportunity to actively participate in the
development of educational programming for a public art gallery on Vancouver
Island!

The Assistant Art Educator will work directly with the Executive Director of
the Nanaimo Art Gallery to review the gallery's current art education
program, and begin development of enhanced educational and interpretive
programs and activities to raise the profile of the gallery and its
exhibitions within Nanaimo.  

As an ideal candidate, you have a minimum of one year college or university
in a field related to art, education, heritage or culture and/or equivalent
work experience.  You possess demonstrated organizational, research, and
writing skills; and work well independently and in a team.  As well, we
would like you to be familiar with operations of non-profit organizations in
the heritage or culture areas.

This position is for 11 weeks from June 18 to August 31, 2007 ($8 an hour,
up to 37.5 hours a week).  Please send covering letter and resume, including

more at another job.
