Darylectones

The Darylectones are releasing their new CD at a special benefit concert on
Sunday, June 3rd, at 7 pm, at the Art Gallery of the South Okanagan, 199
Marina Way, Penticton, BC.

The Darylectones are donating the proceeds of this concert to
AGSO's Tibetan Sand Mandela Project which will happen in the gallery from
July 21-25.

The Darylectones are a post modern acoustic duo whose music has been
described as two jazz guys trying to stuff a blues singer down a well. The
music falls somewhere between Tom Waits and Ry Cooder, in a soulful blend
of world rhythms and old world sensibilities.

The Darylectones are Daryl O'Neill and Stefan Bienz. Daryl plays several
styles of guitar, sings, and writes all the songs. Stefan plays upright
bass and adds percussion by slapping his instrument. Their music is
eclectic, acoustic, and original.

Daryl and Stefan met 8 years ago, when Daryl was the lead guitarist in
another band and Stefan was subbing as their bass player. The two of them
hit it off and started playing together. Stefan eventually left to pursue
his studies in music, and Daryl continued playing around the Okanagan,
although they would collaborate whenever the opportunity arose. Stefan
eventually returned to the valley and they just picked up where they left
off, creating a new music that combines many different genres and styles.

They have performed their original musical melange at festivals in Canada
and the US.

Tickets for the June 3rd Darylectones concert are available at the Art
Gallery of the South Okanagan; $10 for Gallery members and students, or $15
for non-members. Tickets are limited to 50, so please reserve yours in
advance. To arrange a media interview, reserve tickets, or for more
information, please contact Paul Crawford at the Art Gallery of the South
Okanagan, (250) 493-2928.
