Tech speak idea

We are a small "do it yourself" museum. It would be good to have articles
about things that one could do on their own like adding RAM adding an
internal CD/DVD device. Or tips for installing new software, suggestions
for using simple data base programs such as microsoft works. A how to tip
that would be useful with commonly used programs such as using categories in
microsoft Outlook address database. What to look for in a used computer. A
topic might be "how low can you go" Just what is the minimum configuration
for using very basic programs and windows XP with a very simple peer to peer
network. (many of us get computers offered for donation, we are still doing
OK with a 20 GB Hard drive, 256 mb ram and a 666 mhz processor for one or
our computers running windows XP and Office XP)

Subject: [Bcma-l] Round Up Technology Topics?

Hello All,

We write the technology column - Geek Speak - for the Round Up and it falls
to me for the next issue to come up with something brilliant to wow everyone
with. We have covered the gamut of tech as it relates to museums:
podcasting, Second Life, RSS feeds, Wikis, blogs and open data standards to
name but a few. I would like to know what people want to hear more about?
Are there technology topics you wake up in the middle of the night wondering
about? Things that you think would improve your everyday life? Let me know
and I will tackle it in the next Round Up issue.

Cheers,
David Alexander
