October 20 - November 24, 2007

Wood: Naturally Inspired


A juried group exhibit highlighting outstanding works of art in wood, from
October 20 - November 24, 2007 at the Maple Ridge Art Gallery.


The Maple Ridge Art Gallery is pleased to present the work of eighteen
outstanding artists and artisans working in the media of wood. Art works
from BC and Alberta were received and juried, resulting in samples of some
of the best talent working in the media of wood. Over thirty-nine art works
will be presented in this exhibit.


Visitors will be pleasantly surprised with the selection of sculptural,
functional, whimsical, and suggestive works, ranging in scale from miniature
to larger than life size. This exhibit highlights the inherent qualities and
versatility of wood Text Box: Southwest Style Vessel, Keith Slessor, Maple &
Black Walnutthrough the eyes of emerging and mid career artists. Visitors
will experience highly sophisticated and imaginative pieces inspired by
found wood, traditions, geography, and utility.


Come and meet some of the artists at the opening on the 20th of October from
3:00 - 5:00 pm.


The Maple Ridge Art Gallery is located inside the ACT at 11944 Haney Place,
Maple Ridge. Gallery Hours are Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. For more information visit our

have to do is change the title of the work inside the caption to Laminated
Sphere if you would like to use the laminated sphere instead or as well for
