Special Exhibits
Food for Thought: a history of dining on the delta
July 21st – December 21st, 2007
What we eat, how it’s prepared and the way it’s presented at the table have
all evolved over the last century. From the lavish Edwardian table, through
war rationing, to the fondue pot of the 1960’s, this exhibit looks at the
influences on food fashions and their resulting paraphernalia. Also
included in this culinary exploration will be Delta specific ethnic
traditions and regional specialties (like Boundary Bay crab salad!) Bon
Appetit!
Main gallery exhibit.
Delta’s Main Street: Delta Street from 1890 to 1980
July 4th – December 21st, 2007
This exhibit tells the story of Delta Street from its heyday, as Delta’s
commercial “Main Street” to the street’s decline and experience with urban
renewal in the 1970’s. Dramatic changes in Delta Street are revealed in
photographs, maps and plans, and contemporary newspaper articles.
