There is a Request for Proposals out for the rehabilitation of one of
the buildings on the Estate of the Lieutenant Governor at 1401 Rockland
Avenue, Victoria. Supplier attachments for this RFP are posted on BC
Bid. Go to http://www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca/ , browse, and do an advanced
search for "Butterworth" in the title word search.=20
Please note there is mandatory Proponents' briefing will be held at 1:00
pm Tuesday, September 18, 2007 if you are interested in this
opportunity.=20

Background:
This building, now known as Butterworth Cottage, is one of the 19th
century outbuildings that make up the historical service area at
Government House. It was constructed in 1880 and is believed to have
functioned as a poultry house and machine shed at some point in its
history. Part of the building was also adapted to living quarters for
the former head gardener of Government House, Len Butterworth.

This project focuses on rehabilitation of the Butterworth Cottage to
better serve the needs of garden volunteers and visitors to the site by
providing an orientation point for tours, continuing provision of space
for plant sales, and investigating the feasibility of a tea shop and
interpretive centre.
This project is being managed by Work Place Solutions Inc. Please
contact Rob Gillis of WSI for more information at (250) 952-3878, =20
