*Volunteer Vancouver's 20^th Annual Volunteer Celebration* promises to
be an unforgettable evening of grand music, celebration and inspiration.
It's a special event honouring the contributions of ALL volunteers. It's
for volunteers, anyone who works with volunteers, any business,
organization or British Columbian who values the contributions of
volunteers. The ultimate goal is to celebrate ALL volunteering in our
communities.
*6. What is the format of the evening?*
Volunteer Vancouver has contracted the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for
a special musical performance. Throughout the evening, there will be
inspirational messages delivered not only through music, but by our
volunteer host and via a floor-to-ceiling video screen above the
Orchestra. Unlike the format of Volunteer Vancouver's previous Awards
events, individual volunteers/volunteer organizations will not be
singled out?instead it's an opportunity for ALL volunteers to be
applauded for their contributions to community.

*9. Why isn't Volunteer Vancouver having its Awards Event anymore?*
Volunteer Vancouver decided to step back from the awards format.
"Handing out trophies" to one volunteer over another simply does not fit
with our mission to inspire and build leadership in the voluntary
sector. We are also responding to many of our member organizations who
told us the ticket price for a gala dinner was cost prohibitive for
their organizations. Therefore, in 2008, we are celebrating all
volunteers with this new format that involves an evening of
entertainment combined with inspiration?at a very affordable price (only
$34?well below regular pricing for the VSO).
*10. Is this a fundraiser for Volunteer Vancouver?*
Yes! Your attendance will make a difference.
Funds raised from this event will enable Volunteer Vancouver to continue
to inspire and build leadership in the voluntary sector?by designing
innovative programs and services that allow not-for-profit organizations
to meaningfully engage volunteers in new and different ways.
