With regard to dress code, at North Pacific Cannery we have a fairly =
casual dress code as it is a very rough site on clothing, with near =
constant rainfall and 120 years of grime, therefore we do allow jeans. =
The staff uniform consists of a red vest with the company logo on it, =
which can be taken off for doing rougher, dirtier work. =20
As for employee contracts we have a standard new hire letter that we =
modify to suit individual job descriptions, in addition to any contract =
specific to the student position. Hope this helps!

My (non-legal) opinion is that it's good practice to enter into a =
contract with any employee, even with a student employee.=20
With regards to dress code, it's up to the organization to establish =
whether a dress code is necessary but whether we like it or not, =
appearance matters and out of respect to the organization, to its =
patrons and to the position a person occupies within the museum, I feel =
it's most definitely appropriate to be dressed well (pretty subjective, =
I know). The degree of formality of dress will depend on the =
organization but leaving dress up to personal discretion without any =
guidelines could result in creating a poor first impression by your =
visitors.
