*Kelowna Museums Society Annual General Meeting*
at the Okanagan Heritage Museum 470 Queensway Ave
Wednesday, March 26^th , 2008
7:00 pm
The Kelowna Museums Society will hold its Annual General Meeting on
Wednesday, March 26^th at 7:00 pm at the Okanagan Heritage Museum.
Kelowna Museums Society members, as well as members of the Okanagan
Military Museum Society, are invited to attend. Please RSVP your
attendance by March 19^th by calling 763-2417.
2007 was a dynamic year for the Kelowna Museums Society which saw
continued growth and development in all areas of operations, such as two
new, innovative exhibitions at the Okanagan Heritage Museum, /Equus
caballus/ and /We Are Métis/. The Okanagan Military Museum extended its
gallery space on the main floor of the Memorial Arena and began work on
a new permanent exhibit called /Service Life Afloat/. The historic
Laurel Packinghouse, home to the BC Orchard Industry Museum and the BC
Wine Museum & VQA Wine Shop, hosted the annual Cherry Fair and Apple
Fair and the on-going educational "Wine Education Series of Tastings",
or WEST. The upcoming year promises to be just as interesting, with new
and exciting opportunities for growth and community involvement.
The Kelowna Museums Society is a non-profit, charitable organization
dedicated to a greater awareness of the agricultural, wine-producing,
military, and cultural heritages of the Okanagan. The Kelowna Museums
Society operates four museums in three facilities in the heart of the
