Multi Cultural Festival with a Maritime History theme.

The Maritime Museum of British Columbia will host a cultural history =
exhibit
this year to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the
Colony. Maritime Mosaics will be part of the Tall Ships Festival and =
will
run from June 26-28 on the waterfront at the foot of Bastion Square in
Victoria.

To date some fifteen cultural organizations have agreed to participate =
in
this event, creating historical exhibits which tell the story of each
groups=92 contributions to the early development of the Province. In =
addition
to static displays, there will be demonstrations and entertainment such =
as
carving, boat building, folk dance and choral music.

The Maritime Museum of British Columbia would like to invite all BCMA =
member
organizations to contact the museum if they have any material, stories,
photos or other items which they believe may be of value to any of the
displays being created for this event. Of particular interest is =
material
related to the early settlement of the Finnish population , the =
Norwegians,
the Danes, the Portuguese, and the Scots. The museum is  hoping for a =
strong
representation from various First Nations groups as well.=20
