*The British Columbia Wine List Competition*
August 1^st to September 12^th , 2008
Back by industry demand, the BC Wine Museum & VQA Wine Shop and the
British Columbia Restaurant & Foodservices Association proudly present
the _British Columbia Wine List Awards_, August 1^st to September 12^th
, 2008. Winners will be announced on October 10^th at the Winemasters'
Luncheon in Penticton in conjunction with the Okanagan Fall Wine
Festival. The competition is open to all restaurants and sommeliers in
the province and registration packages are available online at

Restaurants will be evaluated on their commitment to the promotion of
British Columbia wines, on the quality of their wine selections, and on
the overall philosophy behind their wine and food program. A panel of
judges from the wine, restaurant, and media industries will weigh-in on
this year's crop of entries and will select their choices for the
winners of the British Columbia Wine List Awards. One Grand Prize will
be awarded to the winner of the Best All BC Wine List. *The Grand Prize
winner will receive an editorial and photographic feature in EAT
Magazine as well as a prize courtesy of WestJet.* All winning
restaurants will receive an invitation to the Winemasters' Luncheon in
Penticton on October 10^th .
The British Columbia Wine List Awards were founded by the Okanagan Wine
Festivals Society in 1997 to celebrate the province's growing wine
industry and the work restaurants do to support this growth. In 2008,
the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society partnered with the BC Wine Museum to
jointly present this exciting provincial competition. The BC Wine Museum
will run the British Columbia Wine List Competition biennially, with the
BC Wine Label Awards occurring on alternate years.
