If the artist has sold previous works you can check his or her web site =
to place a value for tax purposes. You may issue a tax receipt for an =
unknown artist based on their cost of materials. It is always best to =
check Revenue Canada's web site to determine what is allowable or if =
your organization has an accountant, they may be able to provide =
guideance.

We recently received a donation consisting of beautiful original =
sketches done by a prominent artist-illustrator. We would like to issue =
a tax receipt, but do not know how to appraise this donation. =20
I was wondering if anyone has information regarding donations such =
as this. Also, does anyone have a policy in place for dealing with =
these types of donations.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.=20
