The Collections Management Assistant will move the permanent collection =
to an offsite location, unframe and clean each piece, under the =
direction of the curator and a conservator. S/he will take digital =
photos; set up a new database collections management program and enter =
collection records; reframe and move the work to storage at the Museum =
at Campbell River. The student will also provide general gallery =
assistance with mounting and taking down shows, children's programming =
and the Gift Shop - as needed.=20

The Campbell River Art Gallery is the only public gallery north of =
Courtenay. We offer a diverse schedule of continually changing =
exhibitions in two gallery spaces and in our lobby. We also offer =
classes, workshops and events in our studio. The Gallery is a =
provincially recognized institution, with three part-time staff: =
Jeanette Taylor, Executive Director; Manon Staiger, Curator; and =
Christine Kufner, Administrative Assistant. We offer a collegial work =
environment with a broad range of training and work experience for =
someone considering a career in the arts or heritage field.

Gallery staff will assist out-of-town applicants to find reasonably =
priced accommodation.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Preferred:

=B7 Post secondary education is required.
=B7 Applicants must be full-time students who intend =
to return to school full-time; and they must be age 30 or under.
=B7 Touch-typing is required, and strong general =
computer aptitude and skill sets, particularly with data base programs =
is required.
=B7 Good writing and communication skills are =
required.
=B7 Must undergo successful criminal record check.
