Join us for the opening reception for /Boundaries/
Thursday November 13 @ 7 pm

As a salute to the artists in our community who not only maintain active
exhibition records, but also teach art at the post-secondary level, the
Kelowna Art Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition called
/Boundaries/, which will showcase the talents of those artists
associated either as staff or faculty at the University of British
Columbia Okanagan. Opening to the public on Friday, November 14, 2008
and running through to Sunday, January 11, 2009, this exhibition will
feature works by some sixteen artists who work from different approaches
and points of view, and in a wide variety of media.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a full-length catalogue with
reproductions of each piece in the show.

Come enjoy local wines, Grolsh beer, and the music of the Darylectones -
a post modern acoustic duo whose music has been described as two jazz
guys trying to stuff a blues singer down a well.

Opening reception sponsored by: FCCS

/Radiant City, /produced by Burns Film Ltd in co-production with the
National Film Board of Canada, is Burns' first feature-length
documentary, which he co-directs with journalist and first-time
filmmaker Jim Brown. The subject – the issue of urban sprawl – is
explored through the experience of one family negotiating the
complexities of contemporary North American suburbia. /Radiant City/
interestingly mixes documentary and dramatic techniques in its
exploration of an issue being debated in many Canadian communities,
including Kelowna.
