You should have an agreement signed by the consignees absolving you of =
any reponsibility for loss or damage to their work . They should be =
responsible for insuring their own stuff,and could sign something to =
that effect in the agreement.
The Osoyoos Art Gallery has operated that way for years. We had the =
theft of a woven scarf and one piece of pottery that was damaged in the =
7 years I was there.
I don't know if the agreement would hold water legally, but it worked =
for us.

learning as we go. As a member of the Assembly of BC Arts Councils we =
secure our arts council insurance through the member=92s plan.

We sell the work of more than 60 Basin artists in our space on =
consignment. Our insurer tells us the consignment items cannot be =
covered within this policy because we don=92t own the art work that is =
on sale on our premises.=20

Any other galleries on the list that have advice or direction to =
offer?
