*Exhibition Opportunities: National Call for Cheongju International
Craft Biennale and BC Call for 2010 Olympics***

Canadian craft artists are invited to participate in some exciting
opportunities for international, national and local exposure for their
work. Canada has been selected to showcase its craft artists in Canada
Pavilion (approx. 10,000 sq. ft.) at the prestigious Cheongju
International Craft Biennale, to be held in the fall of 2009, in
Cheongju, South Korea. Details about this national call for entry are
now available on CABC?s website www.cabc.net <http://www.cabc.net> under
the ?News? section, specifically at
http://www.cabc.net/final2/forms/Cheongju%20Call%20for%20Entry/CheongjuCallforEntry-English.pdf
and on the Canadian Crafts Federation (CCF) website at
www.canadiancraftsfederation.ca/korea
<http://www.canadiancraftsfederation.ca/korea>. *Deadline for
submission is March 2009*. An online submission process will be
available spring 2009. The Crafts Association of BC (CABC) has been
working with the CCF and all provincial and territorial craft councils
for the past two years to bring Canadian craft artists this exciting
opportunity.

The CABC has arranged an additional exhibition opportunity for BC craft
artists, to be held at the Vancouver Museum and to be shown with a
selection of works from Canada?s submission to the Biennale in Korea, as
well as a travelling exhibit of the fine craft from Korean artists. This
exhibit, ?2010: Unity and Diversity in British Columbia Contemporary
Craft?, will be held from mid-January through April 2010 in celebration
of the 2010 Winter Olympics. This is an excellent opportunity to
show the work of Canadian craft artists to the world. The Call for
Entry for the BC 2010 exhibit and details are available on our website
www.cabc.net <http://www.cabc.net> under the ?News? section at
http://www.cabc.net/final2/forms/Cheongju%20Call%20for%20Entry/2010BC%20Call%20Application%20Form-fillable.pdf
. *Deadline for submission is May 2009*. An online submission process
will be available spring 2009.

Please note that B.C. artists may enter both Calls, and that the timing
of the Calls allows you to submit to both with the same work, or with
different pieces, as you see fit. We also welcome volunteers to
participate in project planning and implementation. Questions or
comments please contact Yvonne Chui, Executive Director at the CABC at
yvonnec@cabc.net <mailto:yvonnec@cabc.net>.

*Travelling exhibition opportunity*: A mini version of this national
exhibition will be available to museums, galleries and centres after the
Olympics. It will take up approx. 1,500 sq. ft. of exhibition space.
Those interested please contact Yvonne Chui at yvonnec@cabc.net
<mailto:yvonnec@cabc.net>. We are looking for expressions of interest.
