A question for the masses:
What is your museum=92s policy on requiring or offering society =
memberships to
volunteers?
It=92s currently written in our volunteer policy that volunteers are =
expected
to become members of our historical society -- but that=92s something =
that has
not been enforced in the past.
Personally, I think that it=92s an excellent idea to recruit your =
volunteers
into your Society membership=97they=92re keen on the museum=92s, they =
are going to
be significantly more engaged than the =93send me a newsletter=94 =
members, and
they more likely to be ambassadors for the organization wherever they =
go.
Recruiting them is one thing, though, requiring it is another.
