Exploring House Genealogy

 

House historian and heritage preservation activist James Johnstone
presents "When an Old House Whispers...Exploring House Genealogy"  on
Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Jewish Museum &
Archives of British Columbia, located on the third floor of the Jewish
Community Centre of Greater Vancouver (950 W.41st Avenue, Vancouver, BC
V5Z 2N7).

 

You never know what, or who you are going to uncover when you embark on
the adventure of researching the history of an old house. Mr. Johnstone
will share some of his most interesting and important discoveries from
the past ten years working as a house genealogist. Come and learn about
the resources available to you, both locally and online, for when you
embark on your own home history adventure.

 

About James Johnstone:

House historian and heritage preservation activist James Johnstone has
researched the history of over 600 houses in Vancouver and New
Westminster. He is the project coordinator of the East End Neighbourhood
History Mapping Project - a comprehensive directory of Vancouver's East
End history.
