*Artists react to societal values in Olympics*

Artists from around the world are being invited to creatively react to
the 2010 Vancouver/Whistler Olympics. www.react2010.com
<http://www.react2010.com/> is a unique forum for creative artistic
expression set to launch in February 2010. The Kelowna based Alternator
Centre for Contemporary Art is creating this site as a means to engage
artists and the global community in a creative cultural conversation
about the values surrounding the Olympics.

"react2010.com <http://www.react2010.com/> will be a dynamic medium for
creative expression that we hope will lead to an examination and
appreciation of diverse cultural values.", stated Jennifer Pickering,
Executive Director for the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art.
"Utilizing the medium of their choice we are inviting artists to react
to the values they see expressed in the Olympic Games."

React2010.com will provide a platform for BC artists and artists from
around the world to display their art, and their opinions, to the
world. The Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art is inviting artists
to a webinar for an introduction to the project and a presentation by
five featured artists. The webinar will take place:

* *

*Monday January 4^th ,* *8 pm at www.react2010.com. *

Chris Bose is a BC artist eager to participate in the project.
"Alternator continues to move forth with projects that push new
directions with art that people need to see and experience. I'm pretty
happy to kick some steam up and make a bit of dirt fly whilst we wallow
through the Olympic madness."

Pickering hopes there will be a wide range of artistic expressions on
the Olympic movement displayed at react2010.com -- both positive and
negative. However, content for the website will be determined by the
artists themselves. Once artists have posted their work on the site
the general public will be invited to interact with the work in February
2010.
