Visit the Western Red Cedar Lumber Associations website at wrcla.org. They
will have a section on cleaning and preserving cedar.

Subject: [Bcma-l] cleaning agents
Hello:
Our Museum is an old pioneers schoolhouse built in 1892 from hand hewn
cedar timbers. We
have a damp climate and the building is mostly shaded year round. The
timbers are getting
green and red mold or lichen on the outside. Does anyone know of a
safe cleaning agent?
