Hello all!
Museums and Collections Services at the University of Alberta has three new=
exciting employment opportunities working with the University of Alberta M=

1. Curator, Contemporary Art, University of Alberta Art Collection http://w=

Reporting to the Executive Director, Museums and Collections Services, the =
Curator, (Contemporary Art), is accountable for the research, development, =
management and program implementation of the Contemporary Art Collection an=
d the Public Art Program within the UAAC. The University of Alberta Art Col=
lections consists of more than 8500 objects and includes paintings, prints,=
drawings, and sculptures by Canadian and international artists, both histo=
rical and contemporary. The print collection is among the finest internatio=
nal contemporary collections in Canada, housed in the Print Study Centre, a=
model facility for discovery learning.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Museums and Collections Services, the =
Curator, Mactaggart Art Collection, is accountable for the overall research=
, development, management and program implementation of The Mactaggart Art =
Collection. The Mactaggart Art Collection consists of works of art and tex=
tiles from a range of countries, time periods and traditions. More than 600=
textiles, costumes and related artifacts date from the Song (960-1279), Mi=
ng (1314-1644) and Qing (1644-1912) dynasties. The art collection consists =
of hanging scrolls, hand scrolls, albums and engravings with great strength=
in Qing court paintings.
3. Collections Management and Museums Planning Advisor http://www.careers.u=

Reporting to the Executive Director, Museums and Collections Services, the =
Collections Management and Museum Planning Advisor is accountable for leadi=
ng and managing the Collections Management Program for the U of A Museums; =
planning, developing and implementing collections management services and p=
olicies; ensuring the University of Alberta Museums are compliant with regu=
latory areas such as the Cultural Property Export and Import Act, and CITES=
(endangered species legislation); leading and managing museums-related rep=
atriation/return of cultural property initiatives; assisting with planning =
major strategic initiatives within the University of Alberta Museums vision=
