Hello Everyone,

The White Rock Museum + Archives is hosting its fourth annual lecture =
series titled "In Their Own Words: Local Authors and Historians on =
Topics of Local Interest." The lecture series reflects the four themes =
of the museum's mandate: Natural History, First Nations History, =
Settlement History, and Railway History.

Sir Francis Drake in the Pacific Northwest

Local Historian Ralph Heading makes the argument that famed English =
explorer and privateer Sir Francis Drake came to Semiahmoo Bay in 1579 =
with a ship full of captured Spanish treasure.

Lectures are held in the museum meeting room at the east end of the =
station building. Admission is by donation.
